MGM Nikah Services
At Werribee Islamic Centre (WIC) we conduct Islamic Marriage (Nikah) and celebrate civil marriage. Imams who are ‘Registered Minister of Religion’ are authorised to celebrate Islamic Marriage and register with Birth, Death, and Marriage Registry of Victoria (BDM).
Couples who intend to marry should lodge the Notice of Intention to Marry (NOIM) no less than 30 days prior to the date of intended marriage. For Islamic Marriage (Nikah), the couple may request the WIC’s Certificate of Islamic Marriage from the celebrant Imam.

Frequently Asked Questions
What s the cost of Nikah services?
Our complete package is priced at $1,100. This offers you exclusive use of the main mosque area for your ceremony, along with access to the foyer and carpark for catering and decorations. The package also includes the services of a celebrant (imam) and covers all necessary legal registrations.
What if we don't want to have many guests?
Are there any restricted times?
Please note that ceremonies cannot be held on Fridays due to Jummah prayers. Evening bookings may be available, depending on the time of year. Additionally, the mosque must remain accessible for daily prayers at their scheduled times, which vary throughout the year. For the most up-to-date prayer timetable, please contact us.
Can we have the females downstairs for the ceromony?
We understand the desire to have all guests gathered downstairs for the ceremony; however, to maintain the sanctity of the mosque, female guests are respectfully required to be seated in the designated area upstairs. This arrangement ensures that we uphold the mosque’s guidelines and traditions during the event.
We want to serve food as well, is this possible?
Yes, you can serve food in the designated community rooms, which are available for hire separately. We can also arrange a viewing of these rooms before you book to ensure they meet your needs.
My partner is overseas, what can we do?
All parties must be present in Victoria at the time of marriage for legally registered marriages. For any exceptions to this rule, please contact Births Deaths Marriages Victoria.
