Al-Manar Weekend School invites all school-age children to join our engaging Sunday classes at Melbourne Grand Mosque. We provide a supportive Islamic environment where students can learn the Qur’an, explore Islamic studies, and strengthen their understanding of faith. Our dedicated teachers cater to all levels, ensuring every child feels confident and inspired on their learning journey. At Al-Manar, we nurture not only knowledge, but also values, character, and a love for Islam.
Al-Manar Hifz Program
Our Hifz Program provides a nurturing, structured environment where children can memorise the Qur’an with confidence and love. Guided by experienced teachers, students develop strong tajweed, consistency, and discipline while balancing their school commitments. The program focuses not only on memorisation, but also on building a positive relationship with the Qur’an, character development, and a sense of belonging within a supportive Islamic community.
Students must be able to read Qur’an fluenty to attend the hifz program.
Al-Manar Weekend Language School offers Sunday classes dedicated to teaching Arabic in a warm and welcoming environment. Our program is designed to help students of all ages connect with their roots, embrace their culture, and strengthen their identity through the beauty of the Arabic language. We focus on developing reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills, while fostering a deep appreciation for the heritage and traditions that Arabic carries. At Melbourne Grand Mosque, we strive to make learning Arabic an inspiring journey that builds both language proficiency and a strong sense of belonging.
What are the fees for Al-Manar?
Term fees: $131
Sibling discount = $10 disount per child
Book sets are $60 per year level
A one off enrolment fee of $50 per child is applicable for all new enrolments
Hifz Program: $485 per term
What time are the classes?
Al-Manar has 2 sessions.
Session 1 includes Quran classes (Junior and Senior), as well as levels 1 – 5
Session 2 includes classes for levels 1-5
Hifz classes: Sundays 9am-2:30pm, Tues & Thurs 5:30pm-7:30pm
Do students attend both sessions?
No, students will attend one session which consists of 2 periods and a short break. Students will be allocated a session based on class capacities.
What age children do you accept?
Children of school age can attend Al-Manar
Do you have a uniform policy?
Yes. All students are required to wear Islamic appropriate clothing.
My child has specific needs, can they still attend?
