Minister of Religion – Imam Hysni Merja is a respected Muslim leader, educator, and community figure currently serving as an imam at the Melbourne Grand Mosque and previously at the historic Albanian Mosque in Shepparton, regional Victoria.

He has studied at Al-Azhar University in Egypt, holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from Albania, and is preparing to commence his PhD at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)

Known for his engaging talks, interfaith contributions, and community workshops on Islamic teachings and rites, he brings deep scholarship and heart to fostering understanding and connection across cultures.
